As we all adjust to our "new normal", the Bio Concepts team share what they're doing to stay entertained, connected, calm and productive during the coronavirus crisis.

  • Dress ups and dance parties
  • Going for walks and adding up the kilometres at the end of the week
  • Craft, puzzles, chores, gardening and schoolwork
  • Walking the fur babies

 

Fun ways we’re staying connected:

  • Playing virtual games with friends
  • The kids are learning to "write letters" and send some good old-fashioned snail mail!
  • Walk to mum’s house to visit her with a takeaway coffee and sit out the front of her house and watch the world go by, as she lives alone
  • House party app
  • Virtual chats, coffee catch ups and occasionally sharing a drink together online

 

We’re practicing self-care by:

  • Daily meditation and breathing exercises
  • Getting fresh air outdoors and in nature
  • Daily exercise, home workout routines and walking outdoors
  • Limiting exposure to non-essential media
  • Taking tailored natural medicines and supplements to support immune function and nervous system to buffer stress
  • Maintaining a routine
  • Spending time with family and staying in touch with others online
  • Reading books to take breaks from screen time
  • Yoga
  • Dancing
  • Preparing healthy meals and eating well
  • Taking baths, using nice soaps, face masks and having a scented candle lit
  • Laughter and having fun
  • Drinking lots of water
  • Walking the dogs and playing with pets
  • Slowing down, doing less activities, resting and relaxing
  • Going to bed early

 

We’re keeping productive when working from home by:

  • Implementing and following a healthy structured routine with boundaries
  • Scheduling the day, planning tasks and activities, setting goals and making lots of lists
  • Getting fresh air and sunshine
  • Taking exercise breaks, frequent walks up and down the stairs, getting up to stretch regularly
  • Having a good supply of coffee beans and herbal teas
  • Setting up workspace away from the rest of the house, in a space free from distractions
  • Burning a scented candle
  • Spotify music on in the background to keep motivated
  • Desk free from clutter to have a nice clear space to work in
  • Meal preparation the night before
  • Taking time at the end of the day to plan the next day
  • Chatting with my team members online to feel like we're still a team even though we aren't in the office together
  • Turning off any distracting devices
