Sarcopenia is a muscle wasting condition that impacts anyone subjected to bed rest or inactivity resulting from age, injury, surgery, extended illness from winter colds and flus, obesity or chronic conditions; postmenopausal women and men experiencing reducing testosterone levels are also at risk.
Loss of muscle strength and muscle mass is expected as part of the natural ageing process. Sarcopenia is the name given to the progressive, accelerated loss of muscle, accompanied by low physical activity. It is now a diagnosable condition that is not well treated by any conventional medicine solution.
