BUILDING A LEGACY
Bio Concepts legacy spans back to 1984 when our founder and Nutritional Biochemist, Henry Osiecki set out to pioneer groundbreaking health solutions in the field of nutritional medicine.
Henry was among one of the first clinical practitioners to promote biochemistry and nutrition as a viable alternative or adjunct to traditional medicine. His passion for natural medicine, paired with a firm belief in its ability to transform the lives of those whose quality of life is decimated by increasingly complex conditions, was the spark that created the Company.
“Bio Concepts will continue his legacy of innovation, dedication, and growth.”
He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree (with honours) followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics. After graduating, Henry became increasingly fascinated about the role played by biochemistry in human physiology and pathology and found his role in educating health care practitioners about the nutritional model as opposed to a pharmaceutical model.
Through the decades, Henry would go on to serve as the Executive Director of the Save the Children Fund and an active member of the the Disaster Relief Fund, Multiple Sclerosis Organisation, and the MINDD Foundation.

After years in clinic, Henry became frustrated with the lack of practitioner-only products available. He started Bio Concepts as the solution, after receiving seed funding from his wife, Dr. Vera Russo, who shared his vision for natural healthcare in Australia.
CoQ10, Lipoic Acid, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Glucosamine, Activated B Vitamins, Theanine, and Lipoic Acid are among the important nutrients introduced over the coming years.
Since its inception, Bio Concepts has remained dedicated to offering top-quality products with full excipient disclosure, valuing every component.

Henry goes on to publish more books over the years that have shaped the fields of biochemistry and nutrition. His dedication to sharing knowledge has empowered and inspired countless practitioners then and now.
"All my books tell a story. Medicine begins with storytelling."
He would write as a nutritional columnist in the Queensland Newspaper, The Courier Mail paper every Friday called - “Your nutrition”. He also appeared regularly on a radio program and lectured around the world.
A major manufacturer shutdown caused widespread product shortages across the industry. Despite the crisis, Bio Concepts maintained a steady supply to the practitioner community as our products were manufactured in-house, allowing us to remain unaffected by the disruption.
This book remains a cornerstone in nutritional medicine, respected by practitioners and students for its detailed insights and practical nutritional advice.
A year later, Bio Concepts Education Centre, now called 'Bio Concepts Engage', wins the Complementary Medicines Australia (CMA) award for 'Outstanding Contribution to Research, Education, and Training’.
“It’s a way of thinking about a problem, and that’s what I really want to teach."
The Osiecki family designed and built a brand-new Head Office in Banyo, Brisbane to stimulate collaboration.
Bio Concepts originally started with only five staff members and one distributor from a small office, on Brunswick Street in Fortitude Valley, before moving to Kelvin Grove, then Eagle Farm and finally Banyo.
He decides to pass the baton to his son, Dr Michael Osiecki PhD, BE (Chemical), BBiotech (Hons) to continue his legacy and pave a new way forward using technology and innovation for the future of medicine.
This is the industry’s most prestigious award, recognising an industry leader who has made an outstanding and consistent contribution to the industry and the wider community.
